- Case Study Abstract: 1 page (appx 3,000 characters). Footnotes and reference list should be on a separate page.
- Your abstract must contain the following sections:
- Introduction
- Case Description
- Discussion
- Conclusion, including a notable learning point.
- Submit as a PDF
- Your abstract must contain the following sections:
- Signed Release Waiver
Judging Abstracts
Abstract submissions and presentation rubrics will be used to select abstracts for the competition and during the competition by the judges.

Case-Con Applications Due
Herd of Zebras! Case-con at ACEP We’ve all had the experience of seeing a notable patient case in the ED; whether it’s that diagnostic mystery that has puzzled you since your first EM medical school rotation, or that unusual presentation of what turned out to be a staple EM diagnosis that you saw as a resident last week. Seeing new things (or familiar things presenting in novel ways) is one of the rewarding aspects of practicing EM at any career stage. EMRA Case-Con 2019
A huge success! Thank you to the 30 participants. This year we expanded to include 2 groups of competitors of medical students residents that came out to present this year at our second annual case study presentation contest. Congratulations to our 2019 winners, who we hope to feature in an upcoming edition of EM Resident.
