Captain (Dr.) Yev Maksimenko, MD, FAWM, NRP will discuss "Incorporating Civilian EMS Lessons into a Vision for the Future of EMS Medical Direction in the US Military." This talk will discuss the various patterns of EMS medicine around the world, specifically discussing the Franco-German and Anglo-Saxon models. It will explore the role of the physicians in the hospital setting and present evidence for and against physician presence in the field. The second half of the talk will explore how these lessons can be applied to the military practice of prehospital medicine and describe a vision for the future of EMS in the military.
