Your goal as an EMRA leader: I hope to grow as a leader, to positively impact EM resident involvement within the Sports Medicine community, and build connections with other leaders from around the country.

Why did you get involved in a professional society? To develop skills that I can use to continue community engagement and leadership roles throughout my career.

What is something people don't know about you? I have a miniature long haired wiener dog

If I weren't an emergency physician, I would be: Chef

Favorite life hack for night shifts: Lots of snacks, coffee and energy drinks

Your goal as an EMRA leader: Continuing to help promote Emergency Medicine not only as a speciality but importantly on Sports Medicine. I want to help spread the information that is easily accessible and reasonable but also useful to my peers.

Why did you get involved in a professional society? I desire strongly to be apart of the change and want to know the new information that can potentially be practice changing. There is so much research and changes in our practice particularly in Emergency Medicine and I think I can learn from being exposed to all this newfound knowledge, and serve a role to help sift through what matters and what does not. 
 
What is the best advice you have ever received? Enjoy the journey on the way to your destination 

If I weren't an emergency physician, I would be: Baseball coach

Favorite life hack for night shifts: 2-3 energy drinks

What app on your phone consumes the most of your time? Instagram vs amboss/rosh 

Favorite channel on social media? Daniel Tosh has a new youtube channel thats pretty great

Your goal as an EMRA leader: To partake in shaping the future of Sports Medicine and positively impact trainees and patients at a time when a bright national spotlight shines on the specialty due to all the recent on-field medical emergencies.

Why did you get involved in a professional society? To further develop my leadership skills, expand my professional network with experts across the globe, and become a mentor to rising leaders. 
 
What is the best advice you have ever received? Above all else, seek a deeper meaning and understanding in life. 
 
What is something that people don't know about you? Before medical school, I lived and worked in New Zealand. 

If I weren't an emergency physician, I would be: Park Ranger or Firefighter

Favorite life hack for night shifts: A pre-night shift workout immediately before a night shift always gives the extra bump to get through

Your goal as an EMRA leader: My goal as an EMRA leader is to help my EM colleagues around the country explore their interests within the field and find their niche.

What do you think are the top three traits of a great leader? Communication skills, vision, and problem-solving. 

What is something that people don't know about you? I’ve had 2 litters of golden retriever puppies and plan to have more in the future

Favorite life hack for night shifts: Bring an extra cup of coffee and look forward to stopping at chick fil a on the way home.

Why did you get involved with a professional society? To broaden my knowledge of the research & actions going on in the Sports Medicine world

What is the best advice you have ever received? Listen to WHAT is being said, not HOW it is said.

What is something that people don't know about you? I played 9 different sports growing up.
