To date TTUHSC has trained more than 20,000 health care professionals. The institution meets the health care needs of more than 2.5 million people who live throughout a 108-county area from Texas to Eastern New Mexico.

Founded in 1969, the TTUHSC School of Medicine has continually worked to address the shortage of physicians in West Texas by providing quality, innovative educational opportunities to medical students and residents who serve as competent and compassionate medical professionals for the region and the state of Texas.
