Ohio Valley Medical Center's Graduate medical Education program offers two osteopathic medicine residency tracks - internal medicine and dually accredited emergency medicine. We also offer a traditional rotating internship. As of 2016, we no long offer a combined EM/IM residency tract. All residents train side-by-side on an equal basis with their colleagues while gaining the additional skills unique to osteopathic medicine. Our Internal Medicine curriculum includes inpatient rotations balanced by rotations with physicians in their offices. Our Emergency Medicine residency is unopposed so our residents have ample opportunity to gain valuable procedural experience. In addition to the appropriate majority of time in our Emergency Department, our residents complete relevant rotations on inpatient services as well as out-rotations nationally and regionally renown quaternary and tertiary care facilities.
